SUMMARY:Farming for the Future
DESCRIPTION:Join the BC Grain Producers Association for a full day of conversations\, learning\, networking\, and innovation focused on the future of grain farming in British Columbia. This year’s AGM brings together producers\, industry leaders\, researchers\, and policymakers for meaningful discussions on the opportunities and challenges shaping agriculture across the Peace Region and beyond. \nWe are also pleased to welcome the BC Minister of Agriculture and Food as a special guest for the event. \nHosted in collaboration with the Peace Region Living Lab\, this event will showcase how producers across the region are testing and implementing Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) through on-farm innovation and practical field-scale research. A featured component of the day will include field tours to Peace Region Living Lab sites\, giving attendees the opportunity to see local projects\, management practices\, and producer-led innovation firsthand. \nWhether you are a grain producer\, agronomist\, ag retailer\, researcher\, student\, or industry supporter\, this event offers a valuable opportunity to connect directly with leaders in the grain sector and hear about the latest developments impacting agriculture in BC. \nBC Grain Producers 2026

SUMMARY:Soil Health Summer Tour - Understanding Soil Amendments
DESCRIPTION:Join internationally recognized soil and plant health educator Joel Williams for a full-day summer learning tour focused on understanding soil amendments and making better agronomic decisions under real-world field conditions. \nHosted at Warrensville Hall\, this event will bring together producers\, agronomists\, researchers\, and industry representatives for practical discussions around soil fertility\, nutrient efficiency\, soil biology\, and input performance in northern growing conditions. \nThe tour will focus on helping producers better understand the difference between beneficial and inefficient soil amendments\, while critically evaluating product claims through a research and field-based lens. Topics will include nutrient availability in high-pH soils\, how limited moisture impacts amendment performance\, and the economic balance between input costs and yield response. \nA featured component of the event will include visits to Living Lab field sites\, where attendees will have the opportunity to see ongoing soil health and regenerative agriculture work firsthand. These sites will highlight Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs)\, soil amendment trials\, and producer-led innovation being explored through the Peace Region Living Lab and collaborating Living Lab initiatives. The field component is intended to provide practical\, field-scale examples of how soil health principles are being tested and adapted under Peace Region growing conditions.
